What are the PIRA numbers listed on the website?
The Physics Instructional Resource Association (PIRA) created a Demonstration Classification Scheme with the goal of creating a logically organized and universally inclusive taxonomy giving a unique code to every lecture demonstration. We have attached the appropriate PIRA designation to each of the demonstrations in our series to provide as much detail and cross-referenced material as possible.

What is the difference between the chapter and subject lists?
The 68 alphabetical and numerical chapters are the complete list of chapters from The Video Encyclopedia of Physics Demonstrations. The subject list is a combination of chapters from our series, PIRA subject headings and other material to provide you with a broader selection of search options.
